IPL 2018: Unlucky Ish Sodhi Gets Out in a Biza…

Ever since the start of the Indian Premier League, batsmen have found the most bizarre ways to get dismissed. One remembers how in 2016 season, Yuvraj Singh while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad was out hit-wicket, in an attempt to play a widish delivery from deep inside the crease.

This year, Rajasthan Royals’ Ish Sodhi was dismissed in an unlucky fashion too. During a match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Sodhi tried to play a yorker off KKR’s Prasidh Krishna. The batsman tried to get his bat in between, and caught the inside-edge. Keeper Dinesh Karthik gathered the ball cleanly and appealed for a catch. Both the umpires referred the decision to the third umpire. The replays showed that Sodhi edged the ball, which hit his boot and then went to the keeper. He was adjudged out finally.

As far as the match is concerned, Kolkata registered a comfortable 6-wicket win over Rajasthan and kept their hopes to make it to the playoffs alive.

Chasing a target 143, Kolkata crossed the finish line with two overs to spare. Earlier, spinner Kuldeep Yadav wreck havov on Rajasthan batsmen and returned with match figures of 4/20. Kolkata are third on the points table, while Rajasthan are in the fourth spot.
