India began their South Africa tour with a confidence sapping loss in the first Test at Cape Town and the second Test match at Johannesburg will not be any easier for the visitors. In the first Test, it was the Indian batting line-up that let them down, while the bowlers brought their best game to the fore, especially in the second innings.
India, also played with one spinner that was Ravichandran Ashwin, who was not particularly effective with the ball. The ace off spinner would have been bothered by that, and is looking to change things around ahead of the second Test.
In a video released by BCCI on social media, Ashwin was seen bowling a seam-up delivery at the batsman in the nets. Ashwin, bowled outside the off stump which was then effectively left alone by the batter.
India trail the Proteas 1-0 in the three match series and in the second Test at Centurion, they will look to come back to level terms. While the Indians will want to sort out their batting issues, they might also look to bring in the left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja in place of Ashwin.
