New Delhi: BCCI on Wednesday announced that the Indian team will be playing two T20I against Ireland, before their tour to England in July this year. The T20I series will be played in Dublin on June 27 and June 29. Thereafter, India will play five Tests, three ODIs and three T20I against England.
India has toured Ireland once before, way back in 2007, and had played one-off ODI in Belfast. The team won the match by nine wickets. In the one T20I these two teams have played together, India came out on top, and won the match by eight wickets. The match took place at Trent Bridge, in the 2009 World T20. Zaheer Khan had picked up four wickets to rattle the Irish side, and restrict them to a paltry 112 runs.
The batsmen did the rest as Gautam Gambhir scored 37 and Rohit Sharma an unbeaten 52 runs, to take India home.
